TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. TOURNAMENT FORMAT

1.1. The tournament will be conducted in a 21-point, Best of 3 Sets Knockout format, subject to the tournament schedule and applicable Badiwars rules.

1.2. The official tournament shuttle will be Fireblade S30 Premium Goose Feather Shuttle.

1.3. Live scoring will be conducted through the MatchMode app/platform.

1.4. Draws and category-wise match schedules will be published through the official Shuttleboi and MatchMode platforms.

2. CATEGORIES

The tournament will have the following categories:

- Men’s Singles

- Men’s Doubles

- Women’s Singles

- Women’s Doubles

- Mixed Doubles

- 35+ Men’s Singles

- 35+ Men’s Doubles

3. AWARDS

3.1. Trophies will be awarded to the Winners and Runners-up of each category.

3.2. Medals will be awarded to the Semifinalists.

3.3. Awards are subject to the player/team completing the tournament requirements and being eligible under these Terms & Conditions.

3.4. Shuttleboi reserves the right to withhold or revoke an award if a player/team is subsequently found to have violated eligibility requirements, tournament rules or these Terms & Conditions.

4. ELIGIBILITY

4.1. Badiwars is a corporate badminton tournament circuit intended exclusively for working professionals.

4.2. The following categories of professionals are eligible to participate:

- Salaried employees

- Self-employed professionals

- Business owners, excluding badminton coaches

- Interns

- Contract employees

4.3. Badminton coaches, professional badminton players and individuals participating primarily as professional badminton players/coaches are not eligible unless specifically permitted by the organisers for a particular event.

4.4. Shuttleboi reserves the right to determine eligibility based on the documents and information submitted by a participant.

5. PROOF OF EMPLOYMENT / BUSINESS OWNERSHIP

5.1. Proof of employment is mandatory for working professionals.

5.2. Acceptable proof may include, but is not limited to:

- Employee ID

- Recent payslip

- Official work email ID

- Offer letter

- Employment letter

- Other valid documentation establishing current employment

5.3. Business owners must provide appropriate proof of business ownership or operation, which may include:

- Company Registration details

- PAN

- GST registration/details

- Other valid business documentation

5.4. Shuttleboi reserves the right to request additional documentation where the submitted information is insufficient to establish eligibility.

5.5. Submission of false, forged, misleading or invalid documents may result in disqualification without refund.

6. AGE ELIGIBILITY – 35+ CATEGORIES

6.1. Players participating in the 35+ categories must satisfy the applicable age requirement.

6.2. Players who turn 35 on or before December 31, 2026 are eligible to participate in the 35+ categories during the 2026 season.

6.3. Valid age proof is mandatory for participation in 35+ categories.

6.4. Acceptable age proof may include a government-issued identity document or other valid document accepted by the organisers.

6.5. Shuttleboi reserves the right to verify age at any stage before or during the tournament.

7. PARTICIPATION LIMIT

7.1. A player may participate in a maximum of two events/categories in a tournament.

7.2. A player cannot register for the same category more than once.

7.3. Players are responsible for ensuring that their selected categories do not create scheduling or participation conflicts.

7.4. Shuttleboi may not be able to accommodate requests to alter match schedules because of a player's participation in multiple categories.

8. REGISTRATION FEES

8.1. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

8.2. Once registration is completed and payment is received, the registration cannot ordinarily be transferred to another player.

8.3. A player who withdraws from the tournament, fails to appear, arrives late, becomes unavailable or is unable to participate for personal reasons will not ordinarily be entitled to a refund.

8.4. Injury, illness, travel issues, work commitments or other personal circumstances will not ordinarily entitle a participant to a refund or transfer.

8.5. Any exception to the above will be solely at the discretion of Shuttleboi and subject to applicable law.

9. DRAWS & SCHEDULE

9.1. Tournament draws and category-wise match schedules will be published on the official Shuttleboi and MatchMode platforms.

9.2. Players are responsible for checking the published schedule and being available for their matches.

9.3. Match timings are indicative and may change depending on the duration of preceding matches, court availability, delays, player availability and other operational circumstances.

9.4. Players may be required to remain available at the venue beyond their originally indicated match time.

10. REPORTING & WALKOVERS

10.1. Players must report at the venue within the reporting time communicated by Shuttleboi.

10.2. Players must be ready to play when called by tournament officials.

10.3. Failure to report on time may result in a walkover being awarded to the opponent.

10.4. A player receiving a walkover due to late arrival or failure to report will ordinarily not be entitled to a refund.

10.5. The final decision regarding a walkover will rest with the designated tournament officials.

11. MATCH RULES & OFFICIAL DECISIONS

11.1. Matches will be conducted in accordance with the tournament rules communicated by Shuttleboi.

11.2. Players must follow instructions issued by tournament officials, referees, umpires, scorers and authorised event personnel.

11.3. Decisions relating to match administration, scheduling, court allocation, scoring, walkovers and player eligibility made by authorised tournament officials must be followed during the event.

11.4. Any dispute should be brought to the attention of the tournament officials as soon as reasonably possible.

12. PLAYER FITNESS & PARTICIPATION AT OWN RISK

12.1. Badminton is a physically demanding sport and participation carries inherent risks.

12.2. These risks may include, but are not limited to:

- Muscle strains

- Sprains

- Ligament injuries

- Falls

- Collisions

- Fractures

- Dehydration

- Exhaustion

- Heat-related illness

- Other sports-related injuries or medical emergencies

12.3. Players are responsible for determining whether they are physically fit and medically capable of participating in competitive badminton.

12.4. Players are encouraged to seek appropriate medical advice before participating if they have an existing injury, illness, medical condition or physical limitation that may affect their participation.

12.5. By registering, players acknowledge the inherent physical risks associated with participating in competitive badminton.

13. INJURY & MEDICAL EMERGENCIES

13.1. In the event of an injury or medical emergency during the tournament, Shuttleboi and/or the venue may provide or facilitate first aid or emergency assistance where available.

13.2. Where reasonably necessary, the organisers may arrange or facilitate transportation to a medical facility or hospital.

13.3. Any subsequent medical consultation, hospitalisation, medication, diagnostic testing, treatment, surgery, rehabilitation or other medical expenses shall be the responsibility of the player, except to the extent otherwise required by applicable law or expressly covered by an event-provided insurance policy.

13.4. Shuttleboi does not provide personal accident or medical insurance to players unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular event.

13.5. Players are responsible for maintaining their own personal medical or accident insurance where they consider it necessary.

13.6. A player who becomes injured or medically unfit during the tournament may be required to stop playing if tournament officials or medical personnel determine that continuing may present a safety risk.

14. WITHDRAWAL DUE TO INJURY OR ILLNESS

14.1. If a player becomes injured or medically unfit before or during the tournament, they may withdraw from participation.

14.2. Withdrawal due to injury or illness will not ordinarily entitle the player to a refund or transfer of registration.

14.3. Where applicable, tournament officials may record the withdrawal or walkover in the official tournament results.

15. PERSONAL BELONGINGS

15.1. Players are solely responsible for their personal belongings brought to the tournament venue.

15.2. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Badminton rackets

- Shoes

- Bags

- Mobile phones

- Wallets

- Watches

- Jewellery

- Cash

- Electronic devices

- Cameras

- Other personal valuables

15.3. Players should not leave valuables unattended.

15.4. Shuttleboi, its organisers, employees, volunteers, venue partners and service providers will not ordinarily be responsible for loss, theft, misplacement or damage to personal belongings, except to the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

15.5. Players should use designated storage facilities where provided and remain responsible for their belongings.

16. PLAYER CONDUCT & SPORTSMANSHIP

16.1. Players are expected to maintain professional and sporting conduct throughout the tournament.

16.2. The following conduct will not be tolerated:

- Physical violence

- Threatening behaviour

- Abusive or offensive language

- Harassment

- Discriminatory behaviour

- Intimidation

- Deliberate damage to property

- Unsportsmanlike conduct

- Disruption of matches or tournament operations

16.3. Shuttleboi may issue warnings, impose penalties, suspend participation, disqualify a player or take other appropriate action in response to misconduct, subject to applicable tournament rules and law.

16.4. Where a player is removed or disqualified because of misconduct, the registration fee will ordinarily not be refundable.

17. EQUIPMENT & PLAYING ATTIRE

17.1. Players are responsible for bringing their own rackets, footwear, clothing and other personal playing equipment unless specifically communicated otherwise.

17.2. Players must use appropriate non-marking badminton footwear suitable for the venue.

17.3. Players must comply with reasonable venue safety requirements and instructions from tournament officials.

17.4. Shuttleboi reserves the right to restrict the use of equipment that may reasonably pose a safety risk or violate venue requirements.

18. ELIGIBILITY VERIFICATION & DISQUALIFICATION

18.1. Shuttleboi may verify a player's employment status, age, business ownership and other eligibility information at any time before, during or after the tournament.

18.2. If a player is found to have provided false, forged, misleading or invalid information, Shuttleboi may:

- Cancel the registration

- Deny participation

- Award a walkover

- Disqualify the player/team

- Remove tournament points or rankings attributable to the participation

- Withhold or revoke awards

- Take other reasonable action in accordance with tournament rules

18.3. Registration fees will ordinarily not be refunded in cases of disqualification arising from false or misleading information.

18.4. If the ineligible player has participated as part of a doubles team, the organisers may take appropriate action affecting the team or match result, depending on the circumstances.

19. TOURNAMENT CHANGES

19.1. Shuttleboi reserves the right to make reasonable changes to:

- Match schedules

- Court allocation

- Match timings

- Draws

- Tournament operations

- Venue arrangements

- Match sequencing

19.2. Such changes may be necessary due to operational requirements, venue availability, player availability, delays or other circumstances affecting the smooth conduct of the tournament.

19.3. Material changes affecting registered players will be communicated through the available official communication channels wherever reasonably practicable.

20. CHANGE OF VENUE OR DATE

20.1. The tournament venue and/or date may be changed due to operational, venue-related, safety, regulatory or unforeseen circumstances.

20.2. Any such change will be communicated to registered players at least one week in advance wherever reasonably practicable.

20.3. In circumstances where providing one week's notice is not reasonably possible, Shuttleboi will communicate the change as soon as reasonably practicable.

20.4. Changes to venue or date will not automatically create a right to a refund, except where required by applicable law or where Shuttleboi expressly announces otherwise.

21. FORCE MAJEURE

21.1. Shuttleboi shall not be responsible for delays, interruptions, postponement or cancellation caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

21.2. Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to:

- Severe weather

- Natural disasters

- Government restrictions

- Public emergencies

- Epidemics or pandemics

- Venue closure

- Fire

- Power failure

- Major technical failure

- Transportation disruptions

- Civil disturbances

- Security concerns

- Acts of God

- Other unforeseen circumstances beyond reasonable control

21.3. Where reasonably possible, Shuttleboi may reschedule or modify the tournament and communicate the revised arrangements to registered players.

22. LIVESTREAMING, PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY

22.1. The tournament may be photographed, filmed, recorded and/or livestreamed.

22.2. The tournament may be livestreamed through Shuttleboi's YouTube and Instagram channels and/or other official platforms.

22.3. By registering for the tournament, players acknowledge and consent to being photographed, filmed or recorded during the event.

22.4. Shuttleboi and its authorised partners may use photographs, videos, match footage, interviews, audio, player names, team names, likenesses and other event-related content for:

- Tournament coverage

- Social media

- Advertising

- Marketing

- Promotional campaigns

- Website content

- Future tournament promotion

- Sponsor and partner communications

22.5. Such use may occur without additional payment to the player, subject to applicable law.

22.6. Players acknowledge that third parties attending or covering the event may independently photograph or record the event.

23. SOCIAL MEDIA & PROMOTIONAL CONTENT

23.1. Shuttleboi may create and publish team posts, player posts, reels, photographs, interviews, match clips, highlights and other content relating to the tournament.

23.2. Players may appear individually or as part of team/group content.

23.3. By registering, players consent to such use for legitimate tournament-related promotional and marketing purposes, subject to applicable law.

24. MATCHMODE & THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS

24.1. MatchMode may be used for tournament registration, draws, scoring, rankings, match management and other tournament-related functions.

24.2. Players may be required to use or provide information to MatchMode or other authorised tournament service providers.

24.3. Third-party platforms may have their own terms, conditions and privacy policies.

24.4. Shuttleboi will not be responsible for independent technical failures or service interruptions of third-party platforms to the extent beyond Shuttleboi's reasonable control.

25. PERSONAL INFORMATION & DOCUMENTS

25.1. Players may be required to provide personal information and supporting documents for:

- Registration

- Eligibility verification

- Age verification

- Employment verification

- Tournament administration

- Communication

- Scoring

- Rankings

- Awards

- Event operations

25.2. Players agree that such information may be used for legitimate tournament administration and related purposes, subject to applicable law and Shuttleboi's applicable privacy practices.

25.3. Players should provide only accurate and valid information.

25.4. Shuttleboi may retain necessary tournament records for legitimate operational, accounting, compliance, ranking and historical purposes, subject to applicable law.

26. THIRD-PARTY VENUES & SERVICE PROVIDERS

26.1. The tournament may be conducted at venues operated or managed by third parties.

26.2. Players must comply with the venue's reasonable rules and safety requirements.

26.3. Shuttleboi may engage third-party vendors, medical providers, technology providers, photographers, videographers, security personnel and other service providers for tournament operations.

26.4. Players agree to comply with reasonable instructions issued by authorised personnel performing tournament-related duties.

27. WALKOVERS, RETIREMENTS & MATCH WITHDRAWALS

27.1. A player may withdraw from an ongoing match due to injury or other circumstances.

27.2. The result will be recorded in accordance with the applicable tournament rules.

27.3. A player who withdraws from a match may not automatically be permitted to continue in another category if tournament officials reasonably determine that doing so would create a health, safety or scheduling concern.

28. NO GUARANTEE OF MATCH TIMINGS

28.1. Tournament schedules are subject to match duration and operational requirements.

28.2. The organisers do not guarantee that a match will begin at the exact time originally published.

28.3. Players participating in multiple categories should account for possible scheduling overlaps and delays.

28.4. Players are responsible for remaining available at the venue when required.

29. SPONSORS, PARTNERS & BRANDING

29.1. Players may be photographed or recorded alongside tournament sponsors and partners.

29.2. Tournament venues may contain sponsor branding, promotional displays, banners, kiosks and other marketing installations.

29.3. Players agree to reasonably cooperate with tournament-related photography, videography and sponsor activation activities, subject to reasonable event operations.

30. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

30.1. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shuttleboi, its organisers, employees, volunteers, contractors, venue partners and authorised service providers shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from participation in or attendance at the tournament.

30.2. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted under applicable law.

30.3. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions shall be interpreted as excluding statutory rights or remedies available to a participant under applicable law.

31. PLAYER RESPONSIBILITY

31.1. Each player is responsible for:

- Providing accurate registration information

- Providing genuine eligibility documents

- Checking tournament schedules

- Reporting on time

- Maintaining appropriate playing equipment

- Following venue rules

- Following tournament rules

- Conducting themselves appropriately

- Informing organisers of relevant injuries or medical concerns

- Safeguarding their personal belongings

31.2. Players are responsible for any damage caused by their wilful or negligent conduct to the extent permitted by applicable law.

32. INDEMNITY

32.1. To the extent permitted by applicable law, a player agrees to be responsible for losses, claims, costs or expenses arising directly from the player's:

- Wilful misconduct

- Fraudulent conduct

- Submission of false or forged information

- Violation of tournament rules

- Unlawful conduct

- Deliberate damage to venue or third-party property

32.2. Nothing in this clause shall require a player to indemnify Shuttleboi for matters caused by Shuttleboi's own conduct to the extent such indemnification would be prohibited by applicable law.

33. DISPUTES & GRIEVANCES

33.1. Players should raise tournament-related concerns with the organisers as soon as reasonably possible during the event.

33.2. The organisers will make reasonable efforts to address operational or tournament-related concerns promptly
