Rahul Raghavan Reclaims His Ground with a Statement Victory at the Monsoon Corporate Open
- Event: Monsoon Corporate Open
- Date - September 27, Coco Sports
Rahul Raghavan delivered a performance that left little room for debate, producing one of the most controlled title runs of the season to secure his second 35+ Men’s Singles crown at the Badiwars 4.0 Corporate Badminton Championship.
His campaign reflected authority from start to finish — composed, measured, and relentlessly efficient against a draw stacked with proven title contenders.
Rahul opened his run with a commanding straight-sets win over Arun Balaraman (GSK), closing the contest 21–7, 21–14 and setting the tone early.
The quarterfinals brought a familiar challenge. Facing Tony Alex (Trident Automation) — the same opponent who had defeated him in the Insportz Open final earlier this season — Rahul turned the tables with a clinical 21–13, 21–15 victory, controlling the rallies and refusing to allow momentum to shift.
In the semifinals, Rahul met Ritwik Venkatesh (Oracle), one of the most consistent podium finishers in the category. The contest, however, followed a similar script, as Rahul tightened his grip on the match to progress with a decisive 21–9, 21–16 win.
Awaiting him in the final was Amiya Behera (Gallagher), a season-long presence deep in tournament draws. Once again, Rahul dictated proceedings from the outset, closing the championship match 21–11, 21–16 to seal the title without dropping a single set across the knockout stages.
With straight-set victories over Tony Alex, Ritwik Venkatesh, and Amiya Behera — three of the strongest challengers in the category — Rahul’s run stood out not for drama, but for clarity.
It was a reminder that in a division often defined by unpredictability, experience, composure, and control still carry weight.
