Mixed Results at Kreeda Open, but Dell Technologies Retain Company Rankings Lead After Event 3

Dell Technologies experienced a mixed outing at the Kreeda Open, the third ranking tournament of the Badiwars 4.0 Corporate Badminton Championship, held on April 26 at Kreeda, Sarjapur.

While several Dell representatives exited in the early rounds across categories, Devika Chandran’s Women’s Singles title, combined with the team’s strong performances in the opening two tournaments, ensured Dell remained at the top of the Company Rankings after three events.

Early Exits Across Categories

In Men’s Singles, Ashish Sharma faced a tough opening-round draw against defending champion Sidarth Saikumar (Signify) and bowed out in straight games 11–21, 8–21.

The 35+ Men’s Singles campaign also saw an early exit, with Honnappa Shettikera losing to Sushanth Bhat (Salesforce) 11–21, 8–21 in the first round.

  • Men’s Doubles: Narrow Margins

In Men’s Doubles, Dell had two pairs in action.

Ashish Sharma & Sarthak Das were drawn against top-seeded brothers Govardhan Shenoy (SAP) and Sukhesh Shenoy (Adobe), exiting in the opening round 13–21, 15–21.

Devaiah M E & Rejith Kumar were involved in one of the closest matches of the day, narrowly losing a three-game thriller to Anshit Garg & Rahul Jain (Visa) 19–21, 21–16, 20–21.

  • Mixed Doubles: A Shock Result

In Mixed Doubles, Sarthak Das & Sowmya Pavan progressed via a walkover in Round 1 against Pakhi Srivastava & Saivikas Potluri (Atlassian), but were eliminated in Round 2 by Hareen Talluri (ICICI Bank) and Tejasvi B (Titan) 14–21, 16–21.

The biggest surprise of the day came when Devaiah M E & Devika Chandran, winners of the Mixed Doubles title at the season-opening Insportz Open, suffered a straight-games defeat 10–21, 10–21 to Shilpa Bharti & Ganja Satyanarayana (Cultfit) in the opening round.

  • 35+ Men’s Doubles

In Men’s 35+ Doubles, Honnappa Shettikera & Senthil N exited in the first round, losing to Bharadwaj Chowdari & Shaik Shafi (IQVIA) 12–21, 16–21.

Leadership Through Consistency

Despite the early exits, Dell Technologies’ early-season consistency—highlighted by titles in Men’s 35+ Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Women’s Singles—proved decisive.

At the conclusion of the Kreeda Open, Dell continued to lead the Company Rankings, reinforcing the value of depth and early momentum in the Badiwars circuit.

As the season enters its next phase, Dell’s focus will shift toward converting leadership into sustained performances across categories.
