Devika Chandran Reaches Women’s Singles Final at Insportz Open, Caps Strong Start for Dell Technologies

Devika Chandran of Dell Technologies delivered a composed and confident run to the Women’s Singles final at the Insportz Open, the opening tournament of the Badiwars 4.0 Corporate Badminton Championship, held on January 18 at Insportz Arena, Soukya Road, Whitefield.

Coming into the first ranking event of the season, Devika showcased consistency and control through the draw, underlining Dell Technologies’ strong presence across multiple categories at the season opener.

A Convincing Run to the Final

In the semifinals, Devika faced Gincy George (GE Healthcare) and produced one of her most commanding performances of the tournament. Dictating rallies from the outset and keeping errors to a minimum, the Dell shuttler secured a straight-games win 21–8, 21–9 to book her place in the final.

The championship match saw Devika take on Uzma Fatima (Target) in a closely contested three-game encounter. After dropping the opening game 21–11, Devika responded with improved aggression and sharper placement to take the second 21–17, forcing a decider.

In the final game, both players traded momentum, but Uzma edged ahead in the closing stages to clinch the title 21–16, with Devika finishing as runner-up.

Strong Early-Season Signals

Reaching the Women’s Singles final at the season opener, alongside Dell Technologies’ titles in Men’s 35+ Doubles and Mixed Doubles, capped a highly successful Insportz Open for the team. Devika Chandran’s run highlighted Dell’s depth across categories and set a strong benchmark for the tournaments to follow.

As Badiwars 4.0 unfolds, performances like these reinforce Dell Technologies’ status as one of the early pace-setters of the season.
