Bala & Rejith Start 2025 on Top with a Statement Win

The 35+ Men’s Doubles category at the Insportz Open delivered a perfect opening chapter to the Badiwars 4.0 season — experience tested, momentum challenged, and a new pairing rising at the right moment.

Bala M and Rejith Kumar entered the draw quietly, but their quarterfinal clash against Sudhip Mohan (Accenture) and Ritwik Venkatesh (Oracle) changed everything.

After dropping the opening set 20–21, Bala and Rejith flipped the match on its head with a ruthless response, storming through the next two sets 21–6, 21–16 to announce their arrival.

The semifinal followed a calmer script, as the pair controlled proceedings against Sreeju Kumar (Pikkol) and Shreeram Muthuraman (Cisco), closing the contest 21–10, 21–12 to secure their place in the final.

Waiting for them were Rahul Raghavan (Qualcomm) and Tony Alex (Trident Automation) — a seasoned duo and early favourites. But the final belonged to Bala and Rejith.

Playing with clarity and composure, they shut down the rallies early and kept the tempo firmly under control, sealing the championship 21–11, 21–17.

A comeback quarterfinal.

A composed semifinal.

A confident final.

The season couldn’t have started better.
