Bala M and Rejith Kumar of Dell Technologies opened the Badiwars 4.0 season on a winning note, clinching the Men’s 35+ Doubles title at the Insportz Open, held on January 18 at Insportz Arena, Soukya Road, Whitefield.
As the first ranking tournament of the 2025 season, the Insportz Open set the tone for what lies ahead—and Bala & Rejith wasted no time in making a statement. Calm under pressure and clinical in execution, the Dell pair navigated a competitive draw to emerge champions.
The Run to the Title
After receiving a bye in the Round of 16, Bala & Rejith faced their first real test in the quarterfinals against Sudhip Mohan (Accenture) and Ritwik Venkatesh (Oracle). Dropping the opening game narrowly, the Dell duo responded with authority, dominating the next two games to close out the match 20–21, 21–6, 21–16.
The semifinal saw Bala & Rejith in complete control, dispatching Sreeju Kumar (Pikkol) and Shreeram Muthuraman (Cisco) in straight games 21–10, 21–12, booking a place in the final without conceding momentum.
A Commanding Final
In the final, the Dell pairing came up against a formidable duo—Rahul Raghavan (Qualcomm) and Tony Alex (Trident Automation). Bala & Rejith delivered a composed, high-percentage performance, neutralising rallies and dictating play to secure the title 21–11, 21–17.
A Strong Signal for the Season Ahead
Winning the Men’s 35+ Doubles at the season opener not only handed Dell Technologies their first title of Badiwars 4.0, but also underlined Bala M and Rejith Kumar as a pair to watch this year. With confidence high and combinations clicking early, their Insportz Open triumph sets a strong foundation for the rest of the circuit.
As the Badiwars 4.0 season unfolds, Dell’s campaign could not have asked for a better start.
